Woodworm is the generic term for all wood boring insects and whilst it should be eradicated to protect your home from damage and possible devaluation not all woodworm infestation requires chemical treatment. For example an active infestation by the Common Furniture Beetle, Anobium punctatum, or the House Longhorn Beetle, Hylotrupes bajulas, possibly would require chemical treatment whereas infestation by the Wood Boring Weevils, Pentarthrum huttoni  and Euophryum huttoni, or the Waney Edge Borer, Ernobius mollis, would not. Accurate identification of the woodworm infestation is therefore important. Even if an active infestation is found or confirmed targeted as opposed to blanket treatment may be all that is required and with no financial interest or incentive in recommending treatment we will offer impartial balanced advice.
